The Story of Christmas 2013 Event:
Tuesday 17 December 2013

The Thirty-Sixth Presentation of The Story of Christmas took place on Tuesday 17 December 2013 at St George’s Hanover Square, Mayfair, and The Dorchester, Park Lane. The event raised over £380,000 to support eight charitable projects - each of which are capital projects benefitting either the homeless or disadvantaged children in the London area. The event was attended by over 600 generous donors, who celebrated a Christmas service of nine lessons and carols, followed by a spectacular champagne reception and charity auction. Festive music was performed by the Choir of St George’s Chapel Windsor Castle, the Band and Fanfare Trumpeters of the Welsh Guards and the magnificent soprano Gwawr Edwards. Yuletide readings and poems were recited by a cast of celebrated names including Charles Dance OBE, Freddie Fox, Tamsin Greig, Ian Hislop, Martin Jarvis OBE, Aled Jones MBE, Miles Jupp, John Sessions, Emma Watson, June Whitfield CBE and Penelope Wilton OBE.
