The Story of Christmas Appeal 2012
The Story of Christmas Stars talk to the EG in November 2011
Founded in 1978, The Story of Christmas is the leading charity carol service of the property industry and London corporate sector. Over the years the Story of Christmas Appeal has raised over £5 million for charities associated with children, young people and the homeless. Fundraising culminates in a spectacular event at the start of Christmastime in the form of a service of nine lessons and carols at St George's Hanover Square, followed by a Champagne Reception and charity auction for principal guests. The Event involves The Story of Christmas's President, Dame Judi Dench and Deputy President, Aled Jones, as well as a whole host of distinguished readers. In the past couple of years these have included such celebrated names as Daniel Craig, Miranda Richardson, Michael Portillo, Benedict Cumberbatch, Ian Hislop, Geoffrey Palmer, Dan Stevens, Freddie Fox, June Whitfield, Joanna Lumley, Sophie Rayworth and very many others.
Attendance at the event is by invitation only and limited to major supporters of the Appeal. For information about supporting the Appeal, please contact the Artistic Director and Chief Executive Marc Corbett-Weaver at info@socappeal.com
